The Samsung Galaxy A71 is a mid-range smartphone built for Samsung lovers who aren’t ready to invest in an S- or Note-series handset but want a device that can perform great when needed. It has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a quad-camera system on the back. The Snapdragon 730 chipset powers the Android operating system, and the battery has a capacity of 4500mAh.

Samsung Galaxy A71 is available for SGD469 in Singapore. The Samsung Galaxy A71 has a 6.7-inch display, a 32-megapixel front camera, a 64-megapixel rear camera, and a 4500mAh battery.

The Pixel-Binning Technology of Samsung Galaxy A71 Singapore

A 32MP Quad-Bayer sensor and pixel-binning technology are used in the front camera to create 8MP output files in Samsung Galaxy A71. A fixed focus lens with a 26mm equivalent focal length channels light and an f/2.2 aperture. The camera can capture 1080p video at 30 frames per second in video mode.

The Samsung Galaxy A71 is in the middle of our ranking with an overall DXOMARK Selfie score of 83, but it outperforms most smartphones in its class that we’ve tested so far.

Front Camera Specs

The A71’s front camera has a bokeh simulation mode that blurs the backdrop; however, the function depends only on software processing because there is no secondary camera.

The effects are sound, but they don’t seem as natural as best-in-class devices: depth-estimation errors are apparent around the subject, and the background blur is flat. The A71 camera can capture clips with a 1080p Full-HD quality at 30 frames per second in video mode, and it earns an impressive 82 points.

Skin tones are typically adequately portrayed in video clips, and detail is well retained as long as you don’t film in low light. In most cases, noise levels are also modest.

Live Focus

Because of the fixed-focus lens, sharpness is optimum between 50 and 60cm from the subject. There is a significant loss of clarity when photographing from closer or longer distances, such as using a selfie stick. People in the rear of group selfies may be somewhat out of focus because of the shallow depth of field. On the plus side, the amount of recorded detail in the in-focus parts of the frame is suitable in strong light, and noise is effectively controlled.

However, when shooting in low light, there is a significant loss of detail and an increase in noise. A careful examination of the images reveals various abnormalities, such as ringing and halo effects.

The Photo Score of Samsung Galaxy A71 is 83

Thanks to photos with usually acceptable exposure in all light settings and a wide dynamic range, the A71 receives an 83 on the Photo scale. However, target exposure in backlit settings can be slightly low, and our testers saw small exposure instabilities in challenging high-contrast scenarios. The A71 front camera’s colour isn’t very strong, with white balance casts apparently in bright light and under tungsten lighting. Colour shading is nicely controlled. However, images might be somewhat under-saturated at times.

Audio and Connectivity, 5G, and More

The Galaxy A71 5G is unlocked and available for all major carriers. Sub-6GHz 5G is supported by AT&T, T-Mobile, US Cellular, and unlocked phone variants.

Verizon provides an Ultra-Wideband variant that now supports millimetre-wave and will later this year enables low-band 5G. It’s important to note that 5G is not the same as LTE, and you should do your research before making a purchase. The Galaxy A71’s X52 modem (400MHz) has half the bandwidth of the X55 (800MHz) modem found in the more expensive Samsung Galaxy 20+.

Display and Design Features of Samsung Galaxy A71

The front of the Galaxy A71 5G is flat, with a curved plastic rear panel. It weighs 6.5 ounces and measures 6.3 by 3.0 by 0.3 inches (HWD).

Although Verizon’s version has a more noticeable prismatic appearance, we tried an unlocked device in black with a subtle monochromatic pattern.

A hybrid SIM slot is located on the top of the phone, while a speaker, a USB-C charging connector, and a 3.5mm headphone jack are located on the bottom.

The left side is barren across the volume rocker and multifunction power/Bixby button on the right. The buttons give a pleasant click when tapped, although they are difficult to reach with tiny hands.

The Hardware

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor and 6GB of RAM power the Galaxy A71 5G.

There’s 128GB of storage available out of the box, with roughly 108GB usable. With a microSD card, you may add up to 1TB of extra storage.

For the Samsung Galaxy A71 price, the performance is adequate. The A71 5G handles multitasking well; we had over two dozen applications open simultaneously, as well as 30 browser tabs, and there was no lag.
